About the Role

Our client is seeking a Software Asset Manager for a high-impact, 12-month freelance mission in Brussels. This is your opportunity to drive compliance, optimize software investments, and shape the future of software asset management for a leading organization. What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and execute comprehensive software inventories across multiple business units
• Define, communicate, and prepare inventory guides; organize kick-off meetings with operational teams
• Master contractual databases and licensing metrics for all relevant software publishers
• Support operational contacts on licensing rules and data requirements
• Coordinate and validate feedback from operational teams to ensure compliance
• Produce detailed compliance reports and monitor the implementation of compliance plans
• Consolidate, synchronize, and reconcile inventory data from diverse sources
• Analyze financial and contractual impacts of non-compliance, and escalate management alerts as needed
• Request and track compliance recovery plans from business units
• Support Purchasing during contract negotiations, including recommendations for license purchases and contract development
• Advise on metrics and clauses related to software licenses
• Guide operational teams to optimize software usage and costs in line with contracts
• Participate in projects to anticipate and manage software-related impacts
• Drive continuous improvement of the Software Asset Management process, including data quality and best practices
• Propose and implement strategies to better control risks, expenses, and compliance

Technical Skills

• Expertise in licensing practices and metrics for leading software vendors
• Mastery of software discovery tools
• Advanced skills in data extraction, transformation, and manipulation (Excel)
• Advanced data analysis and reporting (Excel)
• Knowledge of SharePoint for data and document management
• Experience with ITSM tools and Software Asset Management platforms

Business & Project Experience

• Proven experience in risk monitoring and audit trail management
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and asset management
• Ability to define and track relevant performance indicators
• Project management experience

Language Proficiency

• English: Good (required)

Other Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience
