Replacement position: Full time MYP and DP English Language and Literature and Theatre teacher
MIS is a fully IB accredited international school in Brussels, Belgium for students from Years Our school has approximately 210 students and offers both a fully Anglophone or Bilingual (French/English) programme. Our small campus and small groups provide an optimal teaching and learning environment. Our staff come from all over the world, with international experience, and you would join a small, dynamic and collaborative team with a hands-on approach to learning.
We are currently seeking a full-time Secondary English Language & Literature and Theatre teacher to fill a replacement position.

The ideal candidate will have
:
- A university degree in Secondary Education, English Literature, Theatre or a related field
- Teaching experience, preferably in an international setting and programme
- Fluency in English. Working knowledge of any other language is an advantage
Being an English & Theatre teacher at MIS involves:
- Organising and coordinating the MYP & DP yearly school plays
- contributing towards the creation of a happy, caring environment which reflects a learner-centred, inquiry-based and experiential approach to learning
- differentiating teaching & learning to cater for students with various academic and language levels
- preparing good quality units and lesson plans in line with IB standards and practices
- organising and setting up of interesting and relevant school trips for the students
- being available and open to providing extra support to the students
- being an active member of the MIS community life by participating in and/or leading school clubs and extracurricular activities
- being flexible and open to teaching various grade levels and courses
- demonstrating a genuine interest in on-going personal and professional development
- providing a safe, supportive learning environment for students, teachers and all others community members
- planning and collaborating with colleagues on various interdisciplinary learning projects
- keeping parents informed about student progress and attending parent meetings
- keeping up-to-date records of attendance, curriculum, assessment tasks and assessment data
- preparing student reports and references, and other reports as required
- carrying out supervision at break times, lunch times and other times as required
- participating as required in the preparation for inspections, authorizations and accreditations
- preparing documentation for IB external assessment.
