We are hiring a Front-end Developer for the European Commission in Brussels and various locations around Europe.

• Development of front-end website architecture.
• Design of user interactions on web pages.
• Cross-platform optimisation.
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Design responsive applications.
• Design and develop APIs.
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.
• Writing clean, functional code.
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas
• for improvement.
• • Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
• Meet both technical and consumer needs.
• Write technical documentation.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher

Knowledge and skills
- Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages (Java, Angular);
- Good knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, PostrgesSQL);
- Good knowledge of development and integration tools (GIT, Gitlab, Eclipse, Bamboo, Jira,
- SonarQube);
- Knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tier applications (using REST, SOAP,…)
- Experience of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE);
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual (EN and FR) meetings, good communication skills;
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
- In addition to the requirements above, a good knowledge of EC Building Blocks would be an asset

Specific Expertise

• Excellent knowledge and experience (2 years or more) of Angular and Java;
• Good knowledge and experience (1 year or more) of Oracle and PostgresSQL;
• Good knowledge of Bamboo and GITLAB;
• Good knowledge of Weblogic and Tomcat;
• Experience with euLogin (European Commission's authentication service and single sign-on system);
• Experience with eUI (component library developed by the European Commission to build consistent, accessible, and reusable user interfaces across its web applications).
