Data Engineer

We are seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer to support the implementation of the Rescoped Vehicle Emissions Database project within its new Azure-based data platform. This projects follows to measure real-world vehicle emissions through Remote Sensing technology — a critical step toward improving air quality. As part of this project, you will help design and build the IT infrastructure required to manage and analyse these environmental measurement results.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and debug code using real-world data streams.
• Set up data ingestion pipelines from OLTP applications.
• Implement and optimize ETL processes within the Azure data platform.
• Develop and deliver data models to integrate with Power BI reporting environments.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile team setting to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient data solutions.

Technical Skills & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge of data modeling (3NF, Kimball, etc.)
• Proven experience with:
• Azure Synapse
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Key Vault
• Azure DevOps
• Databricks
• Git / GitHub (including branching strategies)
• Python
