Communications Assistant


Who we are

Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) is the official advisor to the European Union on industrial carbon management

Our mission is to accelerate the deployment and buildout of CO2 infrastructure to reduce CO2 emissions and meet Europe's climate neutrality target.  

Our comprehensive technical work and policy advice build on a broad and diverse member base, ranging from energy producers and industrial companies to infrastructure developers, technology and equipment providers, financial organisations, academia, research institutions, environmental NGOs, trade unions, and other civil society organisations.  

The role

As the Communications Assistant, you will support our team in communicating our work and helping to advance industrial carbon management in Europe. You will assist with the implementation of communication campaigns and initiatives related to ZEP's publications, events, meetings, and strategic communications projects (such as the newsletter launch, 20th anniversary, and rebranding). 

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of EU climate and energy policy, hands-on experience in digital communications and work in a fun and dynamic environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Draft and schedule posts for ZEP's social media channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Bluesky).
  • Prepare and schedule email campaigns.
  • Contribute to the editing and production of content for social media (visuals, videos) and printed materials (publications, factsheets).
  • Support the Communications Officer in ensuring consistent application of ZEP's branding guidelines across all outputs.

This position is a 
full-time and paid internship

under the CIP traineeship programme.  

Required skills

  • Any background is welcome, and some experience in communications or digital content creation is appreciated.
  • Proficiency in Canva; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools is an asset.
  • Strong interest in digital communications and media strategies.
  • Strong interest in EU policy, in particular climate and energy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in English; other languages are welcome.
