About the Role

We are looking for a
Purchasing Assistant
to support our purchasing team in sourcing, ordering, and managing inventory of Asian food and retail products. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the purchasing of food and retail products from local and international suppliers.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding prices, product availability, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Support price negotiations and supplier relationship management.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and stock replenishment.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and databases.
• Research new products and suppliers to expand product variety and improve cost efficiency.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong interest in the food and retail industry, especially Asian products.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong analytical ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or ERP systems.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French, Dutch, or Chinese is a strong advantage.
