Senior Director e-commerce Trade Services

We are now seeking a
Senior Director, E-Commerce Trade Services – Europe, UK & Asia
, to lead all customs clearance, brokerage, and trade consultancy activities across these regions.

This is a
pivotal, high-impact leadership role
— responsible for ensuring seamless international freight flow, full customs compliance, operational efficiency, and a first-class customer experience across all import, export, and transit operations.

You will shape the strategy, manage internal teams and external partners, and develop new trade and customs solutions that enable Landmark Global's continued growth in cross-border e-commerce.


Your mission

You will lead and expand our
Customs Clearance and Trade Consulting
operations across Europe, the UK, and Asia — ensuring compliance, efficiency, and value creation for our customers and our business.


Customs Clearance Operations

  • Lead customs clearance teams
    in Belgium and the UK, managing import, export, and transit operations across all transport modes.
  • Oversee and expand customs brokerage partnerships
    throughout Europe, the UK, and Asia — strengthening Landmark Global's capacity to customs-clear its own freight and deliver brokered solutions.
  • Ensure all international freight flows — postal and commercial — are processed seamlessly, accurately, and cost-effectively.
  • Design and enforce
    control and risk-management frameworks
    to ensure customs compliance and alignment with legal and business requirements.
  • Act as the
    global subject-matter expert in postal customs procedures
    , continuously improving operational efficiency and customer experience for inbound postal flows into Belgium.
  • Maintain deep, current knowledge of
    EU, UK, and Asian customs and tax legislation
    , translating regulatory changes into operational best practice.
  • Collaborate with
    Finance, Product, Network, and Marketing
    teams to develop new customs products and digital solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and support business growth.
  • Drive revenue and EBIT growth of the
    Trade Services division
    through high-value, scalable trade and clearance solutions.
  • Maintain
    financial oversight and accountability
    for all customs transactions across the regions.


Trade Consultancy & Client Solutions

  • Lead
    customs and trade advisory services
    for clients expanding into Europe and Asia.
  • Advise clients on entity setup, fiscal representation, and monthly VAT returns across EU countries.
  • Provide
    strategic customs consulting
    , ensuring clients import and export legally, efficiently, and at optimal cost — including BTI applications, classification rulings, and harmonization services.
  • Build and promote specialized solutions such as
    refunds, amends, and drawback services
    .
  • Liaise with
    government authorities and regulatory bodies
    to secure necessary permits and licenses for regulated products.
  • Align trade and customs practices with
    North American counterparts
    , ensuring global consistency for multinational clients.
  • Partner with the Sales and Key Account teams to co-create customized trade solutions and present them to clients, reinforcing Landmark Global's position as a trusted e-commerce trade expert.


Leadership & Strategic Development

  • Lead and develop a diverse team of customs and trade specialists across multiple countries.
  • Define the strategic direction for
    E-Commerce Trade Services
    across Europe, UK, and Asia, ensuring operational excellence and customer-centric delivery.
  • Foster collaboration across internal departments and international teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and global trade strategy.
  • Champion a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as
    executive advisor and representative
    to customs authorities, industry bodies, and key clients.
  • Influence and support global strategy through thought leadership in cross-border trade, e-commerce compliance, and customs innovation.


Who you are

  • Master's degree
    or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum
    10 years of leadership experience
    in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or e-commerce logistics.
  • Deep knowledge of
    EU and UK customs legislation
    (postal and freight); familiarity with Asian customs regimes is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience managing
    multi-country teams and external vendors
    .
  • Track record in
    sales enablement or business development
    , translating compliance into commercial advantage.
  • Strong analytical mindset and financial acumen; capable of linking operational performance to P&L results.
  • Skilled stakeholder manager and communicator — able to influence at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Fluent in
    English
    ; proficiency in
    Dutch
    and/or
    French
    highly valued.
  • Experienced in customs software, data systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
