Operations Director – Optical Retail

An established optical retail network with stores across Belgium is seeking an experienced
Operations Director with a proven track record in optical retail
to join on an interim basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent
CEO role
.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across a national optical retail network in Belgium
• Drive
  operational improvements and turnaround initiatives
  , enhancing efficiency and profitability
• Provide strategic oversight while remaining actively involved in store-level execution
• Build strong partnerships with store managers, developing franchise and commission models that create win-win growth
• Oversee key functions including
  operations, commercial performance, and marketing initiatives
• Support long-term expansion plans and contribute directly to shaping the company's future

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in optical retail
  (mandatory)
• Track record in
  operational improvement / turnaround
  within retail environments
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving organization
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English
• Strong general management exposure with the ability to balance high-level strategy and practical execution
• Experience in
  marketing and commercial strategy
  within retail is a strong plus
• Background in
  structuring franchise or commission-based partnerships
  is an advantage
