As a specialist in solar photovoltaics energy and the energy transition, the Becquerel Institute provides expert services combining technological, economic and political analysis.

We provide strategic advice to major companies in Europe and around the world, across all segments of the value chain. We collaborate with renowned technical and research centers and support numerous international organizations.

To effectively follow industry and market developments, we are looking for an intern to reinforce our Analytics team.

Main Missions

  • Stay ahead of the solar PV industry

: Monitor national, European, and global market news and trends to provide regular insights to the team.
2. Turn data into intelligence

: Collect and analyze key data on solar PV market evolution, policy instruments (tax credits, subsidies, etc.), and their potential impacts.
3. Understand the industry from the inside

: Track solar PV manufacturing and supply chain dynamics (volumes, locations, technologies, prices) to anticipate market shifts.
4. Build and use analytical tools

: Design, maintain, and operate techno-economic models, data analysis and optimization tools to: Simulate the performance of energy systems, including PV and storage; Assess system competitiveness under various technical, economic, and regulatory scenarios; Model manufacturing processes for PV components; Automate data collection and price/supply chain monitoring.
5. Explore innovation:

Conduct literature reviews on emerging solar PV and renewable energy topics.
6. Think outside the box

: Contribute to developing innovative methodologies to identify new growth opportunities for our clients.
7. Shape market strategies

: Help build go-to-market approaches, design business models, and define the business case for new solar technologies and products.
8. Support research & consulting projects

: Collect and analyze data, create visual dashboards, and help prepare project deliverables and client reports.
9. Communicate insights effectively

: Craft clear, visually appealing reports and presentations that turn data into stories and actionable recommendations.

Profile

  • Currently completing a Master's degree

(or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as engineering, statistics, or economics.
- Additional experience or coursework in data science or artificial intelligence is an asset.
- Strong understanding of energy topics and a genuine interest in renewable energies.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent computer literacy and ability to work independently without IT support
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Fast learner with the ability to work autonomously while demonstrating strong team spirit.
- Dynamic, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
- A good sense of humour is always appreciated

Important – Mandatory Conditions

The proposed contract is a "Convention d'immersion professionnelle" and foresees a monthly reimbursement for expenses on a standard basis EUR based on the 2025 rate). Prospective interns must fulfill this requirement to apply (please confirm it in your cover letter). Applicants with a scholarship, working on a thesis related to photovoltaic technology, are welcome to apply.
