English Online is aimed at adults learning English worldwide, who are absolutely committed to improving their English. Classes are designed around real-life topics and students undertake practical language tasks in group and private classes. It offers a flexible timetable, personalised learning paths and globally connected classrooms.

Our client is looking for adaptable online teachers who enjoy trying out new innovations in online teaching.

They are looking for teachers who are available to teach closed group courses at 18:30-20:30 UK time either Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. These are rolling courses (i.e. when one finishes, you will have the opportunity to begin teaching another), running until June 2026, delivered on behalf of an organisational client. The aim of these courses is to support students to develop the language skills they need to improve their employability. You will also be able to take on additional classes in addition to this closed group course and build up your own timetable.

Please confirm your availability to teach 18:30-20:30 UK time in your supporting statement/on your CV. Candidates who do not do this cannot be considered.

Please Note The Following:
Successful applicants will not be employed directly by the British Council. Individuals will be engaged on hourly-paid contracts by an agency in their country. Introductions to the agencies and any subsequent engagement will be managed by Guidant Global, an outsourced recruitment partner in the UK.

Job Summary

• TEFL Level 5 certificate
• Full mastery of English equivalent to C2 / IELTS Band 8
• Equivalent to 2 years post-certificate teaching experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience in teaching Adults online in either group or private class format
• Experience in teaching General English, Business English and IELTS preparation
• At present, we can have applications from individuals who currently reside in, and have the right to work in, the UK, Canada, India or the USA
