As a Business Analyst within SITO , you will play a key role in the digital transformation of the Assets department .

Elia has set ambitious goals for improving efficiency and quality. In addition, we must support the energy transition , the increase in renewable energy , and the nuclear phase-out .

To achieve these objectives, it is essential to digitalize our activities and the support of our employees . We must also harmonize processes between Elia and our German sister company, 50Hertz .

The Assets department is primarily responsible for the maintenance of the high-voltage electrical grid and the commissioning of new network extensions .

The Business Analyst is responsible for designing efficient business processes and capturing business needs, then translating them into IT system specifications . You act as a bridge between the business/users and various IT partners (functional analysts, project managers, architects, etc.), challenging all parties as needed.

The goal is to develop and maintain the necessary IT tools to optimally and pragmatically support business processes .

We are looking for a Business Analyst to support our digitalization projects , such as:

• Optimizing our Asset Reference Systems by centralizing reference data for high-voltage lines and underground cables into the main reference system for substations.
• The project involves both centralization and data migration , as well as making data available to the rest of the organization through data products .

Your Main Tasks Will Include

• Modeling business processes and supporting the business in redesigning their workflows.
• Identifying business needs and translating them into well-defined business requirements in the form of epics, features, or user stories .
• Challenging the business regarding their needs and future ("to-be") processes.
• Developing the necessary business information models (interfaces, screens, reports, migration, etc.) to implement requirements.
• Aligning and validating requirements between the business and IT.
• Validating IT's functional analysis.
• After implementation: testing and validating releases, including supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) .
• Actively participating in change management , preparing training materials, and delivering user training according to existing methodologies and toolkits.
• Supporting the business in using IT tools during post-implementation .

Additional Requirements

• Master's degree in a technical or economic field , or equivalent through experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, including identifying needs, defining business requirements, and designing business processes.
• Strong analytical mindset and a critical, challenging attitude .
• Excellent communication skills , both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently and in a team , build consensus, and convince stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organizational skills .
• High level of customer orientation and flexibility .
• Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and UML Class Diagrams .
• Experience with tools such as Enterprise Architect (EA) , Jira , and DevOps is a plus.
• Experience in the electricity sector is an asset.
• Experience with Asset Reference Systems is a plus.
• Good command of English (reading and writing) is required.
• Very good command of Dutch or French (speaking, reading, writing) is required, with at least a working knowledge of the second national language.
