B1.3 Engineer Ostend


NHV Group is a European based helicopter service provider, specialised in business-to-business helicopter services both offshore & onshore.

As a certified provider of rotary wing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services from tip to tail, we are looking for an experienced and motivated B1.3 Engineer to join our team in Ostend, Belgium.
Responsibilities & areas
  • Comply with the requirements as described in the regulations;
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks carried out to helicopters meet the standard of the UK CAA/EASA and M.O.E. instructions;
  • Ensure, together with all Engineers, a variable & flexible work planning & work roster based on business needs that supports & realizes business continuity;
  • Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need;
  • Ensure briefing & debriefing of the Chief Engineer; Report daily on the maintenance situation; Inform and update the Chief Engineer on the maintenance situation;
  • Ensure, in cooperation with NHV Supply Chain, Store & support services that the necessary maintenance material & spare parts are present on site at the planned moment.
  • Participate in the daily morning Chief Engineer's briefing (toolbox meeting).
  • Working mainly on base maintenance tasks, with ad hoc maintenance support tasks on the line.
Skills & Experience

In order to be considered for this role, you are expected to have ...

  • a EASA/UK CAA approved Part 66 B1.3 License
  • minimum 5 years of relevant experience in aviation - any Airbus helicopter type
  • engineering experience in different aviation companies is a plus
  • a work permit to work in Belgium

Competences we are looking for in the candidate:

  • you are ICT literate (specific aviation software & MS Office)
  • you communicate in English on a professional level - all other languages are a plus
  • you know & operate by the procedure and processes (operational, quality, safety …) installed by the company
  • you are an excellent communicator in the context of this work:

  • debriefing to pilots, flight crew and Chief Engineer/Dock Chief

  • handover of work from/to previous/next shift
  • you are able to work independently when performing in a less controlled environment and to take initiative to improve work and complete tasks within appropriate time scales
  • you have a good level of logic thinking
