Network Security Specialist

Requirements:

• 5+ years in network engineering and security, specifically in securing industrial networks (OT) with a large scale (e.g., 2500+ switches, 35 production networks).
• Expert knowledge of network hardware and protocols: Cisco switches/routers, subnetting, routing (BGP, OSPF), LAN/VLAN, and core TCP/IP services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
• Proven experience with Industrial Network Protocols such as PROFINET (essential for communication flow analysis).
• Strong practical experience in implementing Network Security projects, including network segmentation, firewall management, and IPS configuration.
• Direct experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiAuthenticator) is a distinct advantage.
• Ability to perform detailed network communication flow analysis using tools like Wireshark or firewall logging to troubleshoot and define security policies.
• Soft skills: Highly analytical and proactive problem-solver, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a collaborative team player essential for minimising production interruptions.
• Languages: Dutch (fluent), English (fluent).

Job Description:

• Take responsibility for implementing the network security framework across the extensive IT/OT landscape.
• Independently plan, implement, and manage Network Security projects, with a primary focus on the segmentation and hardening of 35 production networks.
• Configure and manage numerous firewalls and other security products, including the potential management of the Fortinet suite.
• Analyse complex network communication flows and industrial protocols to inform security policy and segmentation design.
• Work closely with application managers, engineers, and line managers from production departments to schedule changes and resolve issues efficiently in a 24/7 operation.
• Contribute to the overall security and resilience of the production environment.
