Site HR Leader – Advanced Manufacturing | Bruges, Belgium


Our client is a global manufacturing leader, recognised for industry-leading profit margins and operational excellence. As the business undergoes a major international expansion, its Flanders site stands out as the benchmark facility worldwide—a high-performing plant that is strategically vital to the group.

To support the next stage of transformation, we are seeking a Site HR Leader to drive the full scope of HR at the facility while playing a pivotal role in redefining the site’s relationship with its recognised unions. This is a unique opportunity for a senior HR professional to shape industrial relations during a period of considerable change, ensuring outcomes that balance business needs with positive, constructive engagement.


The Role

The Site HR Leader will oversee both strategic planning and day-to-day execution, spanning organizational design, talent management, labor relations, training, compliance, and employee engagement. Core responsibilities include:

  • Industrial Relations – Partner with unions and employee representatives; ensure compliance with labor laws and collective agreements; support negotiations and constructive dialogue.
  • Change & Organisational Development – Implement standardised structures, processes, and skill frameworks aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Talent & Development – Lead recruitment across blue- and white-collar roles; drive training, onboarding, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • HR Metrics & Performance – Monitor KPIs including labor cost, absenteeism, and turnover, developing action plans for improvement.
  • Employee Experience & Communication – Enhance engagement, communication, and HR-led initiatives.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with EHS to maintain high safety standards, and with leadership to ensure HR is a trusted business partner.


What you will bring to the role;

  • Ideally a Master’s degree in Economics, Law, or Organizational Psychology (HR specialisation advantageous), but we are open to all relevant business education and experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in HR within multinational manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Strong expertise in labor law, collective agreements, and union engagement.
  • Broad exposure to recruitment, training, compensation & benefits, and HR reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the resilience to thrive in a complex, unionised environment.
  • Fluency in English and Flemish
