Freelance Senior Linux Engineer - Hybrid - Long Term

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-level Linux systems, with a strong emphasis on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ansible automation, and infrastructure optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Design and implement automation using Ansible, including playbooks, roles, and inventory management.
• Participate in infrastructure projects such as OS upgrades, server builds, patching, hardening, and performance tuning.
• Ensure system uptime, backup integrity, and adherence to security best practices.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps efforts by providing a stable and scalable Linux foundation.
• Work closely with application, network, and security teams to ensure seamless integration across the tech stack.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and participate in knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role.
• Deep hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7/8/9).
• Strong proficiency with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
