Why we need you – About the role

Being part of an international finance team you are in charge of the day to day treatment of accounting transactions and preparation of reporting and tax-related activities for the Belgian and Norwegian entity.

What will be your impact: Key Responsibilities

Accounting:

• Ensure the accuracy, integrity and compliance of the company's accounting records;
• Timely and accurate recording of transactions such as bank statements, salary accounting, journal entries, expense notes…;
• Process payroll-related journal entries;
• Supervise the A/P process, perform supplier payments;
• Prepare and record all month end transactions;
• Account reconciliations;
• Act as the liaison for banks, auditors and government agencies.

VAT & Tax:

• Manage the BE/NO VAT filings and intrastat reporting;
• Review the accounts for VAT and tax compliancy;
• Prepare the tax return;
• Assist in VAT and tax audits.

Month end reporting:

• Process the month end reporting of the Belgian and Norwegian entity;
• Cooperate in the intercompany reconciliation;

Annual accounts:

• Support to finance manager;
• Prepare local GAAP annual accounts;
• Coordinate the preparation of audit files for the annual external audit.

Ad Hoc:

• Initiate process optimization where possible;
• Support in several finance related processes;
• Assist in or lead different projects;
• Admin support to the Belgian and Norwegian entities;
• Admin for insurances;
• Assist in the contract library;
• Follow up on office supplies;
• …

What we are looking for: Experience, Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor or master degree in accounting and tax
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an international/manufacturing environment
• Strong accounting, VAT and tax knowledge
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Hands-on attitude and self-driven
• Eager to learn and to continuously improve processes and procedures
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus

About your team

You will be working in the Finance team, it is an international and dynamic team that has a strong solution oriented mindset. You will be working closely with different departments such as Operations, HSE and Logistics. Via a close working relation with these departments it is the goal to ensure an effective maintenance support. You will be reporting to the Head of accounting.
