Join the enthusiastic HSSE department of our client in Lillo and play a key role in developing and implementing a brand-new HSE organisation. In this role, you will initially focus on environmental management, working closely with the Environmental Coordinator, before expanding into other HSE areas based on your expertise and availability.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures and systems for the HSE Management System, with an initial focus on environmental management.
- Collaborate closely with the Environmental Coordinator to ensure effective integration of environmental procedures.
- Lead small multidisciplinary expert teams to align and fine-tune new HSE procedures.
- Guide and coordinate external consultants responsible for drafting new documentation.
- Oversee the creation of related training packages in cooperation with Learning & Development, and possibly deliver HSE/environmental training yourself.
- Monitor new legislation and ensure its implementation in environmental and HSE documentation.
- Track related KPIs and coordinate necessary adjustments with the wider HSE team.
- Conduct or support risk assessments for environmental and/or wellbeing aspects.
- Perform internal audits and assist during external audits.
- Support environmental and safety studies.
- Potentially assist in the commissioning process of new installations.
Your profile
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certified Environmental Coordinator (Level A or B).
- Certified Prevention Advisor (Level 1 or 2) is a plus.
- Knowledge of environmental topics in an operational setting and of Flemish environmental legislation.
- Knowledge of Belgian wellbeing legislation is a plus.
- Willingness to familiarise yourself with HSE-relevant regulations.
- Experience in a Seveso environment and in environmental & safety management.
- Skilled in developing procedures and delivering training.
- Strong communicator and motivator with analytical skills and helicopter view.
- Team player with the ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and adopt a coaching approach.
- Fluent in Dutch with a good command of English.
