Over de job – Als R&D Engineer bij LAB Motion Systems werk je aan de evaluatie, verbetering en ontwikkeling van onze toepassingen en processen. Je onderzoekt nieuwe technologieën, voert procesanalyses uit en vertaalt klantvragen naar werkende applicaties en conceptsystemen. Je draagt technische kennis over aan de collega’s binnen het team en zorgt dat onze oplossingen optimaal presteren.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Je evalueert de prestaties van bestaande stages en processen en stelt verbeteringen voor.
• Procesanalyse van verschillende systemen, toepassingen en klantvragen.
• Onderzoek en evaluatie van nieuwe technologieën of alternatieven voor bestaande processen, met als doel de nieuwe generatie motion systemen performanter te maken.
• Je ontwikkelt nieuwe systemen en processen op vlak van lagering, aandrijving, sensors, motion controllers en drives.
• Je maakt rapportages op om kennis te delen en technische ondersteuning te bieden aan de Product Development engineers en Projectleiders.

Vaardigheden

• Master in engineering (bij voorkeur werktuigbouwkunde of elektrotechniek).
• Ervaring is geen vereiste, wel zoeken we iemand met passie, motivatie en resultaatgerichtheid.
• Je hebt een hands-on mentaliteit: je bent niet bang om nieuwe dingen te leren en om technische uitdagingen aan te pakken.
• Je bent creatief, een echte problem solver en bent technisch en analytisch sterk onderlegd.
• Basiskennis van 3D-modellering (ervaring met Autodesk Inventor is een plus).
• Basiskennis van elektronica.

To achieve this, we rely on an excellent team of PhDs, development engineers, and well-trained technicians.

About the Role - As an R&D Engineer at Orion Laser Tech, you will work on the evaluation, improvement, and development of our applications and processes. You will research new technologies, perform process analyses, and translate customer requests into working applications and concept systems. You will share technical knowledge with your colleagues within the team and ensure our solutions deliver optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• You evaluate the performance of existing stages and processes and propose improvements.
• You conduct process analyses of various systems, applications, and customer requests.

• You research and evaluate new technologies or alternatives to existing processes, which lead to next generation motionn systems with enhanced performance.
• You develop new systems and processes for bearings, drive train components and motors, sensors, motion controllers and drives.
• You prepare reports to share knowledge and provide technical support to the Product Development engineers and Projectleaders.

Skills

• Master’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical).
• Experience is not required, but we are looking for someone with passion, motivation, and a results-driven mindset.
• Hands-on mentality: not afraid to learn new things and tackle technical challenges.
• Creative, strong problem solver, with solid technical and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of 3D modelling (experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus).
• Basic knowledge of electronics.
• Basic programming skills (Structured Text, Python) or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
• Flexible and able to work independently.
