Account Director (Nederlandstalig)

Our creative and strategic agency Serviceplan, part of our Brussels-based House of Communication (labeled Great Place to Work) is looking for an Account Director to work on a new client in the electronics retail sector across Belgium and the Netherlands.


Key Responsibilities


Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, managing all aspects of the relationship across finance, operations, brand, and people.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key client stakeholders through open communication and proactive collaboration.

Strategic Account Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the client’s business and marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with the client and internal teams to identify opportunities for impactful, innovative solutions that drive brand growth.

Service & Campaign Execution:

  • Oversee the delivery of all services and campaigns, ensuring excellence from concept through execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver work that meets or exceeds client expectations.

Financial & Operational Management:

  • Manage budgets, forecast revenue, and ensure account profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial updates to both the client and internal stakeholders.

Business Development:

  • Identify and drive opportunities for organic growth within the client’s business.
  • Support the agency’s broader business development efforts with insights and opportunities related to the BeNeLux region.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire the account team in Belgium and the Netherlands, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Provide clear direction, support, and mentorship to ensure team success and professional growth.

Travel:

  • Travel between Brussels and Amsterdam on an (almost) weekly basis to maintain strong connections with the client and the team.


Qualifications and requirements


  • At least 10 years of experience in advertising, with at least 5 years in an Account Director role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale clients with agency fees of €2 million or more.
  • Experience in handling retail clients or other fast-moving sectors is a plus.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work in dynamic, high-pressure environments with tight deadlines and last-minute changes.
  • Confident leader with strong people management skills.
  • Good relationship-builder able to communicate effectively with all levels of the client’s organization — from C-suite (e.g., CMO) to day-to-day contacts.
  • Excellent presentation and social skills.
  • Deep passion for advertising and branding, with strong creative and strategic insight.
  • Being a Dutch native speaker is essential, as well as a strong command of English.
  • Willing and able to travel between Brussels and Amsterdam on a near-weekly basis.
