Contract Duration: Until March 2026 (with possibility of extension)

We are currently searching for a Senior Software Asset Consultant (SAC) to support a key European institution in Brussels. This role is critical in ensuring software license compliance, supporting policy development, and contributing to the effective management of software assets across the organization.

It combines legal insight, technical expertise, and operational know-how and requires someone who can navigate the complexities of licensing frameworks, stakeholder communication, and IT systems management with precision and professionalism.

Your key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply licensing terms based on contracts, EULAs, license grants, and other documentation.
• Maintain and update the Software Asset Management (SAM) system, including license data input and data integrity.
• Execute actions to ensure compliance and optimize license usage in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Support the drafting and implementation of IT policies and procedures related to SAM.
• Assist in the functional evolution of the SAM system, contributing to configuration, data migration, and testing.
• Prepare clear compliance and reporting documents in line with contractual obligations and industry standards.
• Provide input for vendor negotiations and license budgeting.
• Stay informed on developments in software licensing, audit trends, and policy changes.
• Participate in relevant meetings, working groups, and discussions with contractors and project teams.

Education:

• Master’s degree (IT, economics, law, or related field) + minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• OR Bachelor’s degree + minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar function

Experience and skills:

• Strong knowledge of software licensing models and compliance best practices
• Familiarity with SAM tools and experience configuring or working within asset management systems
• Proficient in analyzing and translating legal clauses into operational IT rules
• Comfortable with data handling, imports, and basic SQL queries
• Understanding of IT infrastructure and asset lifecycle processes
• Ability to draft technical documents and procedures clearly and accurately
• Previous exposure to vendor management or contract negotiation support is a plus
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification required
• SAM certifications such as CSAM are an advantage

Languages:

• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken)
• Knowledge of French is an asset

• Capable of working independently while collaborating across departments
• Skilled in preparing structured documentation and leading meetings
• Organized, solution-oriented, and proactive in identifying and addressing issues
