IT Project Manager (background .Net/Cobol)

Location: Brussels - Hybrid (2 - 3 days in the client´s office)

Languages: English (B2) + French or Dutch (C1)

Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Belgium

About the Role

The role involves managing complex IT projects in an environment built around a Micro Focus mainframe emulator (Windows), with applications developed in Cobol / Mix Cobol + .NET, and complemented by modern .NET front-end, CRM platforms, and various integration and communication tools.

Your Profile:

✅Professional Experience:

• 5 to 8 years of proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally in application development within insurance, banking, or similar industries.
• Demonstrated success leading complex IT projects with significant scope and visibility.
• Ability to present past project experiences and methodologies during the interview process.

✅Methodologies:

• Mandatory: Prince2 certified or strong hands-on experience.
• Required: Waterfall project management experience.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.

✅Soft Skills:

• Strong communicator with the ability to adapt to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Quick to adapt and eager to learn within complex environments.
• Client-focused mindset with a collaborative approach.

💼 Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage full project lifecycles, from initiation to closure, with a strong focus on planning, coordination, and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders across Life product domains.
• Monitor progress, manage budgets and risks, and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones.
• Ensure project documentation and communication is clear and aligned with both technical and business audiences.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and project methodology alignment.
