Service Description:
The Group is transforming into a data-centric, data-driven company. As Data Advisors within the corporate Digital & Data department, the mission is to drive the entire organization to use data as an enabler to achieve strategic ambitions, innovation, transformation, and regulatory compliance. This role involves bridging the gap between business and data, working with subject matter experts to design solid data foundations (metadata, responsibilities, discoverability) that leverage the Data Platform.
As part of a product team, the Data Advisor will drive improvements in Data Management practices with values of respect, open-mindedness, daring, challenging, innovation, customer-focus, and team spirit. The role spans initiatives at both Belgian and German entities, offering a chance to leave a significant mark on corporate Data Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to enhancing Data Governance methodology by providing field feedback.
- Work with the Business Purpose and connect Data, Organization & People, Processes, and Technology.
- Understand and analyze business needs.
- Seek both quick-benefit and sustainable medium-term data management solutions.
- Deliver advising and training to Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business, and IT teams, including on-the-job coaching.
- Continuously review and ensure the transversality of the Business Glossary, formalizing business definitions of data and their purpose.
- Manage expectations and collaborate intensely across multi-disciplinary stakeholders, departments, and product teams.
- Facilitate convergence among diverse stakeholders, embodying the ambassador role of “One Team for the Customer.”
- Always focus on generating business value.
What You Will NOT Do:
- Operate from an Ivory Tower or impose Data Governance methodology; influence it through practical feedback.
- Make business decisions but advise logically with clear reasoning.
- Manage data communities, engineering, or development teams.
- Define detailed solutions or technical architecture, nor implement or develop technical systems.
Requirements:
Language:
- Fluent spoken, written, and reading skills in English and either French or Dutch.
Technical Skills (Mandatory):
- Minimum 4 years experience in:
- Data Governance
- Data Quality Management
- Metadata Management
- Master Data Management
Technical Skills (Optional but Valuable):
- Data Classification, Data Privacy, Data Security, CIA Measures
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Big Data
- Data Modeling
- Data Integration & API
Domain Knowledge:
- Rapid understanding of the client’s business as a Transmission System Operator.
- Experience in Utilities or Energy sectors is a plus.
