Data Engineer (with focus on Microsoft Fabric/BI)

Because we want to further fulfil our mission and vision, we are looking for a Data Engineer with focus on Microsoft Fabric/BI.

As a Data Engineer, you are part of the Software & Datawarehouse Engineering team and report directly to the ICT Director. You play a pivotal role in in setting up and managing our data infrastructure, generating valuable insights that directly impact our business operations. You will work at the intersection of technology and business, transforming raw data into actionable information that forms the basis for strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Data Warehouse Development: You are ultimately responsible for setting up, maintaining and optimising a robust scalable data warehouse within Microsoft Fabric.
• ETL Management: You implement and manage ETL processes using a Framework for all our various data sources, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Business Alignment & Reporting: you work closely with different branches of the business to identify their concrete reporting needs and convert them into practical, data warehouse-driven reports.
• Report Evaluation & Optimisation: You maintain and evaluate existing reports, identify areas for improvement and implement changes to maximise accuracy and usability.
• Transformation & Modernisation: You will be responsible for converting existing reports to advanced, data warehouse-driven solutions, contributing to a unified and efficient reporting landscape.

Hard competences:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Very fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Demonstrable experience in setting up and managing data solutions with Microsoft Fabric.
• Extensive experience with SQL and working with relational databases (preferably also postgres).
• Advanced knowledge of and experience with Power BI for developing impactful reports and dashboards.
• Experience integrating data via REST APIs
• Experience with data warehouse systems.
