Senior Photonics Engineer

Location: Ghent, Belgium (Onsite)

About Us:

We're working with a leading technology company who's seeking a talented Senior Photonics Engineer to join their innovative team. You will work alongside a group of dedicated professionals to develop cutting-edge silicon photonics devices and products.

Responsibilities:

• Lead new projects from research and development to product launch.
• Design and model photonic components and circuits.
• Ensure designs meet specifications through rigorous review and testing.
• Contribute to the development of new applications and system architectures.
• Collaborate with local and global teams.
• Stay updated on industry trends through research and conference participation.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in R&D or industry. Open to more experienced Engineers
• Proven track record in designing and testing silicon photonics and III-V components.
• Strong understanding of PIC-based architectures and systems for optical data processing and sensing.
• Experience in technical feasibility studies and market analysis is a plus.
• Proficiency in photonics modeling tools (e.g., Photon design, Lumerical, COMSOL, CST).
