Our client is a global leader in the commercial vehicle industry, known for delivering high-quality logistics and transportation solutions across Europe and Asia. With strong operations in both Japan and Thailand, the company focuses on efficient, sustainable, and precision-driven supply chain networks.


The Transport Controller is an essential part of the global logistics chain, overseeing the shipment of goods from multiple European suppliers to production plants in Asia. Working closely with carriers, customs brokers, cross-dock teams, and overseas colleagues, you’ll ensure that goods move efficiently and compliantly through the European X-dock to their final destinations.


Requirements

  • Coordinate transport from EU suppliers to Asia-based production plants.
  • Book sea freight based on demand forecasts and ensure timely vessel scheduling.
  • Communicate with carriers, X-docks, and internal teams to manage any booking or documentation issues.
  • Collect and verify shipping documents; ensure customs compliance.
  • Upload accurate documentation to SharePoint for downstream processing.
  • Escalate and follow up on damage reports or logistics deviations.
  • Process and verify transport invoices in line with agreed provider rates.
  • Prepare shipment-specific invoices for customs purposes.
  • Conduct weekly on-site checks at the Ghent cross-dock.
  • Participate in occasional business travel (1–2 times per year).


What you bring:

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience (preferably in logistics or supply chain)
  • Experience with ERP (e.g. JD Edwards, AutoRelease) or TMS/WMS systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Proactive, solution-driven attitude
  • Strong teamwork and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience with international logistics and customs documentation is a plus


Additional Details

  • Work Setup: Hybrid, with weekly visits to the cross-dock/warehouse in Ghent, Belgium
  • Eligibility: Must have valid Belgian/EU work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
