Information Security Specialist

This position involves system administration, scripting and automation, log management, security monitoring and incident response.

• Administration of Linux servers with AlmaLinux, Proxmox, Debian and other distributions.
• Use of scripting and automation tools including bash, Ansible and Python.
• Maintenance and monitoring of log management systems to identify and address potential security threats.
• Responding to and handling security alerts in a timely manner.
• Sustaining and supporting security policies and best practices to ensure the integrity of our systems and data.
• Conducting internal security audits and following up on findings to improve our overall security posture.
• Reporting security incidents and collaborating with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans that minimize downtime and disruption.

We're looking for an experienced information security specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• An analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A passion for open-source software and ethical hacking principles.
• Experience in academic settings is highly valued.
