  Here's how you'll be part of it
  You will join the Development Service in the Flemish Parliament as a system manager databases and applications. You will become part of a team of seven colleagues, led by a coordinator who reports to the Director of Facilities, Infrastructure & ICT. You manage the IT systems on which our in-house developed software runs. In addition, you will carry out functional and technical analyses for new and existing software projects. You will think along about architectural choices and outline the lines for future applications.

  • As system manager databases and applications, your responsibilities include:
  ">
  • Design, configuration, maintenance and management of the IT platform (databases, application and web servers).
  ">
  • Develop proposals for the implementation of improvements or renewals of databases, etc. and implement these.
  ">
  • Ensure a well-thought-out backup system to prevent data loss in case of problems.
  ">
  • Manage the Web Application Firewall to protect internal applications.
  ">
  • Test upgrades and updates and implement them.
  ">
  • Build and improve Puppet scripts that are necessary for configuring production systems.
  ">
  • Automate tasks using Jenkins.
  ">
  • Prepare technical documentation, procedures and user manuals.
  ">
  • Carry out functional and technical analyses for new and existing projects.
  ">
  • Analyze the needs of developers and translate these into the necessary work activities at database and application server level.

  • Facilitate technological and architectural choices.

  • Oracle databases (with a bonus in Oracle Cloud)

  • SQL; PL/SQL is a bonus

  • Reverse proxy and Web Application Firewall: BigIP F5 (or prepared to acquire this knowledge shortly)

Requirements

• You have a bachelor's degree in IT or a graduate diploma in system and network management that you obtained within the last three years or two years of demonstrable professional experience in database management or system management within the last five years.

• You are Belgian or a citizen of the European Economic Area (an EU member state, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein).

• You enjoy civil and political rights.
