Our client is looking for an operational buyer to support the purchase department in the headquarters in Genk. You will become part of an international team focusing on building effective and sustainable long-term relationships with both suppliers and customers. Your main responsibility will be to purchase fasteners and connectors within the automotive industry. A new permanent team is being set up as part of a strategic project. You will assist the manager in the roll-out of this.

The main tasks as operational buyer are:

• You manage the day-to-day tasks regarding purchasing in the scope of the project: being accountable to other departments and suppliers, handle questions and problems that arise, prioritize, gather and share information, organize the work…
• You keep the contacts with these suppliers alive
• Data processing, you update the internal price and order database
• You are responsible for any running changes within the change management system
• You support with initiating and implementing continuous improvement of cost, quality, and delivery.

PROFILE

• Master or Bachelor degree
• Preferably a first working experience in procurement, but an enthusiastic starter is also welcome
• An analytical mindset and strong administrative and coordination skills
• Technical knowledge is a plus
• Working accurately and proficient with Excel
• Flexibility, persistency and entrepreneurship are key
• Very good knowledge of Dutch and English is required
