IT Security Consultant - Secure Data and Document Protection

The Role

As a Secure Data and Document Protection Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and messaging systems. Based in Brussels with hybrid flexibility, you will contribute to high-impact projects, often in the context of EU institutions.

You will:

• Design and implement integration layers between backend systems and secure messaging tools.
• Advise on security principles including authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, and encryption.
• Lead risk assessments and security testing initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation for messaging and transport protocols.
• Optimize secure data transfer architecture and backend system interfaces.

Your Experience

• Deep knowledge of messaging & web protocols: ebMS3, AS4, XML, JSON, BDXL, TLS, OAuth2, OpenID, WS-Security.
• Strong backend development expertise: Java, OOP, design patterns, SQL, LDAP, ACID/XA transactions.
• Mobile development experience (3+ years): Android (Java/Kotlin), iOS (Swift), Key Attestation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, Selenium, JMeter, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• Containerization & infrastructure experience: Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, load balancers, TPM, HSM.
• Agile mindset with proficiency in SCRUM, OpenPM2, and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and French (C1 minimum) .

Desirable:

• SANS Web Application Tester certification
• Previous experience working with or for EU institutions
• Knowledge of advanced cryptographic hardware
• Certifications in cybersecurity, software development, or project management
• Background in large-scale international or multicultural environments
