Technical Artist - Graphics Programming

About the job:


Would you like to join a team of dedicated technical and vfx artists who are pushing the boundaries for what can be done in VR? Are you interested in working on massive, genre-defining IPs as well as in-house independent titles? Then this new position could be exactly what you’ve been on the hunt for!


To help us support epic, unannounced projects we’re looking for a technical artist or graphics engineer/programmer skilled with Unreal Engine’s render pipeline.


The ideal candidate would have :


  • Proven experience with at least Unreal Engine in graphical pipeline related tasks such as advanced post processes, modifying parts of the pipeline in a custom engine,…
  • Experience in robust game optimization
  • Previous work in VR, console or mobile is a big plus
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Good communication skills, always being respectful of others and their work
  • Solid C++ foundations
  • Solid mathematical skills
  • Readiness to be mentored, open to feedback and criticism
  • Experience with graphics profiling tools, ie RenderDoc.
  • Some affinity with technical vfx creation tools such as Houdini, Embergen, 3D modeling softwares and other art authoring programs is a plus.

If you know all there is to know about mobile optimization and VR, great, if not, no problem. What we’re really looking for is an individual with strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5 and graphics programming. Your team will be a safe space to learn, grow, communicate and achieve your goals. 


Responsibilities: 


We are a team of experienced technical artists with a solid working knowledge in game optimization, VFX, shaders,… and we’re counting on you to round up our skill-set with your math skills and cool low level optimization wizardry! Under your lead technical artist, here are a some responsibilities we would love your help with:


  • GPU profiling and suggesting optimizations
  • Implementing some of those optimizations yourself, especially when it comes to customizing the engine or lower level tasks
  • Contribute in the research of new ways to tackle VR specific technical challenges and push the medium forward
  • Communicating ways to improve our processes with designers and artists in a respectful and digestible manner
  • Aid in the creation of tools to automate artists’ work or edit assets
  • Help other technical artists author tricky shaders


Bonus if you have…


  • Prior experience leading a shipped game (VR or otherwise)
  • Background in vfx, scripting, any other technical arts domain
  • Familiarity with other game engines
