About GERG :
The European Gas Research Group (GERG) is a non-profit association, promoting collaborative research to cement and realise the role of gas infrastructure in the energy transition. Today the association counts over 30 members from European countries: gas operators, research organisations, universities, for whom it provides a forum for discussion, technological exchange and information dissemination. GERG R&D projects focus on four strategic areas: hydrogen, biomethane, methane emissions, and carbon capture and storage. The projects are initiated by the members or answer a demand from the European Commission.
GERG is a consortium member in several European-funded projects. The main role for GERG is to contribute to the project impact - communicating the results of the project to the right stakeholders to ensure the information generated by this public-funded hits its intended mark, and that the project team has access to feedback from the expert community to support their work.
GERG is administered by a team of 8 people, led by the Secretary General, who manage the work of the association, provide value to the membership, and deliver the contributions to European-funded projects. The Association has an office in the heart of the EU quarter of Brussels.
