Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a Construction Manager to join one of their projects based in Ghent on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily on-site construction activities for the expansion project, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Coordinate multiple contractors across disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, etc.) and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS standards, and specific procedures.
- Oversee site logistics, work permits, method statements, and redline/as-built documentation.
- Lead site meetings, safety briefings, and progress reporting.
- Support commissioning and turnover in collaboration with validation and QA teams.
- Identify and mitigate risks, manage changes, and maintain alignment with project plans.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Sufficient years’ experience in construction management, ideally within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
- Strong understanding of GMP, EHS regulations, and construction within live or regulated facilities.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale or complex brownfield/greenfield projects.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English
- Familiarity with LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and construction management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Engineering or construction-related degree preferred.
