Job Purpose: Replacement contract

As an Accountant, your role entails: ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank’s financial records by managing reconciliations, invoice processing, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This position is important for maintaining efficient financial operations, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and tax regulations.

Job Description:

• Financial Reconciliation & Compliance: The accountant is responsible for the reconciliation of nostro accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded, and discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.
• Invoice Management: Handling the receipt, payment, and encoding of invoices while maintaining a structured follow-up system to ensure timely processing.
• Budget Control & Account Adjustments: Monitoring supplier invoices and overhead accounts for both Brussels, Paris and London branches, ensuring expenses align with budget forecasts and adjusting accounts when necessary.
• Legal & Statutory Bookkeeping: Maintaining accurate legal books (daybook, inventory book, incoming and outgoing invoices) in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Ad-Hoc Duties: Carrying out any additional tasks assigned by the line manager to support the finance team’s operations.

Job Requirements:

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related fields. Can be replaced by truly relevant banking experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 years in accounting
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Proficient in written, spoken English, French (Dutch is an extra)

Working Conditions:

• Environmental Conditions: The role operates in a professional office environment.
• Physical Conditions: Primarily desk-based work, with one day work-from-home per week.
