Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Solution Architect to spearhead the technical and strategic development of a data backbone for our bank and to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of innovative data solutions within the banking and financial services domain. This role demands a deep understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies, and banking processes to drive strategic transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a design thinker, solution-oriented leader, and exceptional communicator with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud, data architecture, and AI/ML fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution of a high-performance data platform supporting the bank and the IT roadmap.
• Own end-to-end delivery, from design and development to production deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Assess emerging technologies, tools, and platforms in the data and banking landscape.
• Recommend suitable technologies, focusing on advanced analytics, event streaming, data governance, and master data management
• Understand and apply IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions, selecting the most appropriate architecture patterns for business challenges
• Oversee the integration and optimization of analytical platform, databases and frameworks, including but not limited to Temenos Datalake and future data platform.
• Establish best practices for scalability, performance, and reliability in low-latency environments.
• Act as a mentor and technical guide for team members, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Skills & Experience needed for the job

• Extensive experience with data platforms, including Big Data, ETL, event streaming, data virtualization, advanced analytics, data governance, Lakehouse and data warehousing.
• Proven track record of solution architecture in data technologies.
• Strong business acumen and ability to convert solutions into clear, actionable documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience articulating, enforcing, and governing data architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with MS Azure Cloud data solutions and management.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals is a plus

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Data solutions and banking.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture, including distributed systems, caching, and data replication.
• Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (mainly MS Azure).
• Demonstrated success in a data platform ownership role, including defining roadmaps and managing technical delivery.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to technology.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum Bachelors degree in technology, or equivalent education or work experience
• Expert knowledge of Bank and technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) from a strategic perspective and managing/ directing teams and projects Advanced and thorough understanding of businesses and/or organizational practices/ disciplines
• Sound knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business
• Must have a strong understanding of internal controls, with a good understanding of operations
• Bank regulatory knowledge a plus
• Must be very self-motivated, working independently under minimum supervision
• Excellent analytical skills are required
• Has proven skills of managing projects and people to get projects done on time
• Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
