Security Engineer (Medior)

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Medior Security Engineer to join our team, working specifically to enhance and maintain the information security posture for one of our key clients. This is a significant opportunity for a security professional to take on more responsibility, contribute to strategic security initiatives, and grow their expertise within a critical client environment.

In this challenging role, you will play a vital role in the design, implementation, and ongoing management of information security measures. You will work with a degree of autonomy, contributing to security architecture, performing in-depth analysis, and actively participating in compliance and incident response efforts.

Your Responsibilities.

• Actively participate in and contribute to day-to-day security operations, including advanced security monitoring, log analysis, and proactive threat hunting.
• Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments, manage remediation efforts, and contribute to the development of strategies to address security weaknesses.
• Ensure ongoing adherence to information security standards, particularly ISO 27001 and NIS2 directives, and support audit processes.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of security incident response, from detection and analysis to containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness programs and training for employees.
• Assist in the design and review of secure architectures for new and existing systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Configure, optimize, and manage various security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IAM solutions).
• Collaborate with IT, development, and operational teams, acting as a security subject matter expert and potentially mentoring junior team members.

Your Profile.

• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an information security role, with +/- 3 years of experience in NIS 2 & ISO27001.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, network security protocols, cloud security principles, and common attack vectors.
• Certifications (Strongly Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or equivalent. ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor certification is a significant advantage.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Dutch, English, and French (written and spoken).
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
