Role
Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) is looking for a proactive and highly organized Communications & Events Officer to support our mission of advancing plastics recycling across Europe. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in implementing our communication strategy and coordinating impactful events that connect and engage stakeholders throughout the industry.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement the association’s digital communications strategy, ensuring alignment with PRE’s overall mission and goals
- Develop and lead communication projects, driving initiatives that enhance stakeholder engagement and industry visibility
- Plan, organize, and execute both physical and virtual events, including:
- End-to-end event management: logistics, supplier coordination, venue selection, registration processes, and programme development
- Lead outreach and promotional efforts to maximize attendance and impact
- Create and deliver engaging campaigns and content that support the communication strategy and resonate with target audiences
- Manage PRE’s social media channels to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging and increased online visibility
- Oversee daily communication tasks, including:
- Mass mailings and newsletters
- Maintenance and management of the contact database
- Provide administrative support to ensure the seamless execution of communication and event-related activities
- Offer ad-hoc support on cross-functional projects across the association as needed.
Qualifications & experience
- University degree in communications, public relations, political communications, information technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Required Skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven experience in organizing and managing events (both physical and online)
- Familiarity with design and editing tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro)
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with social media management tools and channels (LinkedIn, X)
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken), with attention to detail and clarity in communication
- Familiarity with media relations
- Creative thinker with a passion for engaging audiences and delivering impactful events, with a marketing outlook
- Proactive, flexible, and a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge or interest in the workings of the European Institutions
- Understanding of EU public relations and the digital landscape
- Familiarity with the Brussels-EU media scene
- Knowledge of marketing strategies
