You are responsible for Business Development within our organization for the region of Antwerp, including the harbor “Port of Antwerp Bruges” and all prospects within the region.
You ensure proactive prospecting and onboarding of new “customer labels” within the region and determined scope of prospects within the customer DNA profile of Group K.
You manage the prospecting, sales activities, presales activities follow up with operations, proposals, negotiation and contract closing for your prospects.
You are coordinating internally resources from the different Competence Centers including Cloud Solutions and Services, Networking Solutions and IT Security Consultancy and Services as well as the Project Management capabilities whenever new projects are detected and implemented at your customers.
You report to the VP Marketing & Sales.
You work in close cooperation with the rest of the Sales team and the Operations team when and as needed to assist in closing new service management deals at customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
As an Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and growing our client base. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Customer Profiling and prospecting: Actively identifying target prospects within our target range of desired customers. Prospect Planning, prospecting and building relationships within these target prospects, understanding their business.
2. Customer relationship management: Acting as the primary point of contact for your clients, you will build strong, lasting relationships. You will understand their needs and provide them with tailored solutions to drive their success.
3. Sales and revenue growth: Leveraging our diverse range of ICT solutions, you will actively sell to medium-to-large businesses, delivering compelling proposals and following up on quotes to close deals effectively.
4. Collaborative solution design: Partnering with our presales engineers, you’ll ensure that the solutions offered align with client requirements and ensure “fit for purpose” proposals are created, combining technical expertise with client-focused insights.
5. Commercial Presentations: You present and represent Group K at your customers and present the proposals after having identified the stakeholders and Customer’s decision criteria to ensure the proposals are disruptive and have a high success conversion rate. You also represent the Customer within Group K to ensure that proposals are aligned to the Customer’s interest and priorities.
6. Customer onboarding and retention: From the initial point of contact to the development of long-term relationships, you will handle the complete customer lifecycle. You'll seamlessly onboard new clients while ensuring high satisfaction and engagement.
7. Communication and support: You will stay connected with clients and prospects on regular basis through whichever means needed including and not limited to events, phone, email, face to face meetings, …. and provide timely updates within Group K’s CRM and ERP system on all communication and contact points.
8. Administrative precision: You will manage essential administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy, including maintaining records, tracking interactions and proposals and updating CRM and ERP systems.
9. Customer Satisfaction: You ensure follow-up on customer satisfaction for every new customer you onboard, and act as an escalation point where and as needed to resolve critical situations.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
We're searching for a candidate who brings a blend of sales acumen, client relationship skills, and technical understanding. As ideal candidate you have the following characteristics:
1. You have a minimum of 5 years in Business Development in the ICT sector or similar technology-driven industries.
2. You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
3. You have a good understanding of ITIL and IT Service Management and Project Management.
4. You have experience in strategic account reviews at customers, reflecting on the services delivered and detecting opportunities for improvement and up- or cross-sell.
5. You have strong communication and presentation skills.
6. You have strong analytical and financial tracking skills
7. Languages: Dutch and English are mandatory. French in addition is a plus.
8. You are good in understanding customer needs, identifying stakeholders, building relationships and identifying your customer’s decision criteria.
9. You are strong in building collaborative relationships and you thrive in a team setting and are comfortable working closely with technical and sales experts to deliver the best solutions.
10. You are an effective communicator whether engaging at events, in physical meetings, over the phone or in virtual meetings, you communicate clearly and confidently.
11. You have strong presentation skills

13. You handle administrative tasks with precision and can manage your time effectively to juggle multiple clients and projects.
Working Conditions:
· Full time with 1 day per week in the office in Houthalen-Helchteren once up to speed.
· Visiting customers and events can mean evening and or weekend activities.
