MYP coordinator & Co-Assistant Head of school (either Academic or Pastoral lead)
The role might include teaching one or two classes.

MYP coordinator:
The MYP coordinator together with the PYP & DP Coordinator and Head of school will be responsible for the pedagogical leadership within the school. The MYP coordinator will show their ability to act as a leader within the Pedagogical leadership team.
A commitment to collaborative planning is central to the philosophy of the MYP. The MYP coordinator has a crucial role in this process and will take responsibility for ensuring that pedagogical and curriculum aspects are discussed; information is disseminated, and the programme is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively in accordance with IB standards & practices.
Documentation:
- Ensures that copies of IB publications pertaining to the MYP section of the school are available to and communicated to all staff members.
- Ensures all curriculum requirements are met and appropriately documented (subject and interdisciplinary unit plans, vertical/horizontal meetings etc.) as well as assessment standardisation.
- Creates and coordinates MYP IB development plans and actively contributes to the formation and implementation of the whole school’s strategic and IB development plans.
- Observes teaching, learning, assessing and collects all necessary information considering the status and changes of the programme.
- Responsible for ensuring that IB standards & practices are met and understood by the team and the community.
- Coordinate, plan and organise for a successful 5 year IB evaluation of the programme (next evaluation: 2025/26).
- Update all print and web-based materials related to the MYP Programme, in collaboration with the Marketing and Admissions Manager.
- Review and adjust school policies, and ensure that they are implemented appropriately.
- Manage the MYP section on Managebac (e.g.reporting)
Professional Development:
- Oversees the teachers’ professional growth and development along with the rest of the leadership team.
- Ensures teachers to collaborate and to develop their professional skills via professional learning communities (e.g. faculty meetings, PD days, etc.)
- Ensures training requirements are met for the 5-year evaluation visit by developing a PD plan tailored to the priorities of the section.
- Keeps a record of workshop attendance and certificates.
- Assists teams or individuals in developing units or other MYP requirements.
- Provide induction training for new MYP teachers.
Resource Management:
- Establishes an inventory of resources to facilitate efficient management.
- Coordinate the purchase of suitable resources to support the implementation of the programme.
Communication & Leadership:
- Works collaboratively with parents, education specialists and other organisations.
- Organise surveys and focus groups to gather feedback from community members
- Prepares and leads weekly faculty meetings and PD days.
- Organising presentations and workshops for parents to develop their understanding of the MYP philosophy and goals.
- Publishes articles pertaining to the programme in the school newsletter and for external magazines, etc.
- Coordinates MYP field trips and overnight trip plans for the section to allow for a wide array of activities that will enhance students’ learning, school trips etc.
- Responsible for student reviews, communication with the Learning Support Teacher and family to ensure an adequate plan is prepared and support is given.
- Updating/being familiar with/ communicating inclusive needs.
- Supporting the scheduler to ensure that the MYP schedule meets IB requirements.
- Participates in relevant steps of the admissions process. E.g. check language and programme placement and communicate languages of incoming students to teachers, etc.
- Work in conjunction with the Advisory teacher to establish a rigorous service component.
- Monitor the MYP core programme to ensure core time is optimally used and that student progress is monitored.
- Ensure that uploading of PPs is smooth and on time. Analyse PP results with the PP coordinator.
- Liaise with the IB coordinators to ensure a smooth transition from PYP to MYP and from MYP to DP.
- Support the scheduler with internal examinations organisation.
- Effectively communicate issues of malpractice to students and parents in collaboration with relevant members. C

- verseeing the master scheduling, ensuring that the schedulers optimise resources and maintain balanced workloads for staff. This also includes coordinating the sports scheduling.D
