Data Analyst

YOUR CHALLENGES

We are seeking a talented and passionate professional proficient in using Excel and Power BI to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights. In your role you will collect, analyze, and interpret data to streamline the negotiation processes. You will also contribute to the development and optimization of procurement strategies based on data-driven insights. Your reports generated with your insights will contribute to taking data-driven strategic decisions. You are expected to engage in effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal parties such as colleagues and senior management, as well as external partners like suppliers and customers.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

You hold a master's degree in relevant fields, such as Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar qualification, or you have achieved this level through experience. Advanced Excel and Power BI skills are required in combination with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate complex data sets into actionable insights. With your communication skills you have the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience within the logistics sector or the shipping industry is a plus! Hands-on experience as a data analyst: either professionally or project-based during studies or extracurricular projects. You are pragmatic and result driven. You are fluent in Dutch and English. You can easily settle into an environment where decisions are made quickly, where open communication prevails and where you draw energy from success.

Skills:

• Excel is crucial for handling and manipulating data efficiently. This includes the ability to use formulas, functions, pivot tables, and other advanced features.
• Power BI skills: The role emphasizes the use of Power BI for data analysis and visualization. You should be proficient in creating compelling visualizations, dashboards, and reports to convey data-driven insights.
• Data Modelling
• Experience with designing normalized & dimensional data models.
• Knowledge of the medallion architecture for data extraction, conformation and curation.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data sets and identifying meaningful patterns and trends. This involves the ability to derive insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Data Science or Business Analytics Background: A master's degree in relevant fields such as Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar qualification is mentioned as a preference. Alternatively, equivalent experience in these areas is considered.
• Programming Languages
• SQL: Knowledge of SQL for querying databases and extracting relevant data is a must.
• DAX: Familiarity with Data Analysis Expressions to perform complex calculations on data is a must.
• Python: Depending on the specific requirements, knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R may be beneficial for data analysis and manipulation.
• Microsoft Azure Platform
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Fundamentals is a plus.
