EHS Prevention officer

Your Role:

As a Prevention Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our internal prevention coordinator in implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures. You will also support teams in executing these guidelines. Your efforts will ensure compliance with employee well-being legislation in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support to personnel on health and safety topics within the laboratories.
• Conduct regular safety tours to identify potential safety issues, areas, and bottlenecks, and provide input for possible optimizations.
• Assist with incident investigations and good saves to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support risk assessments of workplace hazards and risks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Organize safety training sessions on health and safety best practices and emergency procedures for new employees.

Your Profile:

• Certified Level 2 Prevention Advisor with at least 3-5 years of experience · Preferably you hold a scientific master’s or bachelor’s degree · You are efficient, flexible, and dynamic, with a strong sense of urgency.
• You are customer-focused and results-driven.
• You possess excellent problem-solving skills and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
• You have an analytical mindset
• You have a strong safety awareness and demonstrate safety example behaviour.
• You are proficient in English, both spoken and written, and have good technical writing skills.
• You can work independently and are also a team player with a “can-do” mentality.
• Languages: Fluent in English & Dutch (spoken and written)
