Young Professional - Legal Counsel

Elicio NV is a major Belgian renewable energy company focused on the development, financing, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind energy power plants. The group’s activity covers mid-size to large-scale wind projects in Belgium, France, Serbia, Spain and Scotland.

In support of its continued growth, Elicio is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to strengthen its Legal team.

Responsibilities

The Legal Counsel shall, under the supervision of the relevant Sr. Legal Counsel and together with other team members, provide legal support on a variety of matters to the finance, corporate, business development and construction teams in all countries in which Elicio is active, with a focus on Belgium and France. You will be working in a dynamic and inspiring team, offering a unique working atmosphere.

Required Education, courses and/or experience

The Legal Counsel must have as a minimum a recent Master of Law degree with 1 year or a couple of years relevant work experience, preferably in a law firm or in an industrial environment, in one or more of the following domains: energy law, corporate law, administrative law and/or commercial law.

Main tasks and responsabilities

• Providing legal support in relation with all various legal aspects of the development, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind energy projects.
• Drafting and negotiating different types of commercial contracts (such as supplier contracts, cooperation agreements, MoUs, NDAs, etc.).
• Providing legal support for M&A transactions, in corporate compliance matters and corporate housekeeping processes.
• Drafting and negotiating contracts for land securing.
• Assisting with permit application, and giving legal support on consenting, energy law and environmental matters.
• Providing legal support in tender processes.
• Following-up on new legislation and regulatory matters.
• Cooperating with the different divisions of the Elicio Group.
• Cooperating with external advisors.
• Occasional travel abroad.

Mother tongue Dutch or French

Fluent in English

Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
