What you will be doing

Umicore is deploying a Modern Data Platform with the objective of enabling its Business Units utilize their data and create data solutions that will help maximize business insights and realize value through different kinds of digital initiatives from Analytics to Data Science and AI.

As Data Analytics Project Manager you will use data analytics and project management expert-level skills to lead the development and roll-out data analytics products. You will be responsible for overseeing the creation of data-driven products and services. You will work with a team of analysts, data engineers, and other professionals to ensure that projects meet their intended goals and objectives. You will also manage client relationships and ensure that all parties involved in a project are happy with its progress. This will include regular meetings with clients to discuss project status or updates on what's being worked on next.

Job responsibilities

• Collaborating with business leaders to understand their needs and challenges, and translating this information into data and business requirements.
• Managing a project's scope to ensure that it meets client specifications and managing teams of analysts, data engineers, and solution architects to ensure that projects are completed on time, in budget.
• Providing leadership and guidance to project teams by setting goals and providing feedback on progress.
• Developing a strategy for implementing new technologies within the organization's Data Solutions and Architecture.You will be a team member of the Data Solutions Center of Excellence, in Corporate IS. You will report hierarchically to the Head of the Center of Excellence.
• Location will be Brussels. Travels to the other Umicore sites might be required on occasional basis.

Who we are looking for

• Master degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in the domain of Business Intelligence, ETL and Datawarehouse, data science, advanced analytics
• Strong project management skills and Agile methodology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI) and techniques
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, DBT)
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Mature, assertive and dynamic personality, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Team player with strong communication skills and with a collaborative spirit
• Customer oriented, result driven & focused on delivering quality
• Strong analytical skills and are able to lead complex projects and related teams
• Interest in and exposure to industrial activities, processes and technology
