R&D Engineers research, architect, design, develop, and test software for our products.

They define, create, integrate, verify and modify SW/system components and utilize innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and specifications. They apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis.

Our team

The team you will be part of is an inter-cultural team with a mix of PON (passive optical network), system, embedded software and python experts.

com networks are a key element in our society and Employer’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation and technical expertise.

Employer fiber broadband solutions already delivered three generations of PON technology. From Gigabit GPON, network capacity was boosted by a factor of with G PON (world premiere with Proximus), paving the way to G backhaul thanks to our in-house developed ASIC.

Design, develop and test embedded software which is at the heart of the product Write software for real-time controllers, embedded Linux and ASIC drivers Be part of a multi-disciplinary agile team of senior experts and supported by state-of-the-art development and test technologies, tools and processes Interface with various other teams (product management, software, hardware and ASIC/FPGA) to solve complex puzzles and develop the right products for our customers Jouw profiel

You have

A master’s degree in Computer Science, communications, Electrical Engineering, Industrial science or equivalent experience Knowledge in software development (C/C++) Take pride in the quality of your code and architecture Interest in IP networks and communications networks in general Willingness to contribute with creative, out-of-the-box solutions, to problems arising in a dynamic environment, under high market pressure

It would be nice if you also had

Experience in software development (open source, Raspberry pi, Arduino, …) Basic knowledge on fiber technologies like GPON, XGSPON and U-NGPON Experience with Docker, Jenkins, qemu, simics, real-time operating systems Strategische keuzes voor de evolutie van de informatiesystemen van de onderneming bepalen en aanbevelen Informaticaprogramma's en -applicaties ontwerpen en ontwikkelen Don Netwerkarchitectuur De activiteiten van een team coördineren Technische specificaties van de informatica applicatie uitwerken en opsen (lastenboek) De realisatie van projecten superviseren en coördineren Programmeren in een specifieke computertaal Behoeften van de klant of gebruiker analyseren
