The Belgian market is supported by the company’s European headquarters, where engineering, project calculation, production, project management, and service teams are based. The working environment is entrepreneurial, technically driven, and built around autonomy, trust, and direct communication.

Mission

As Sales Engineer Belgium, you will ensure the continuity and further development of the company’s activities within the Belgian industrial market.

You will gradually take over an established customer portfolio from an experienced Sales Manager who will remain active during the transition period. This structured handover will allow you to build strong customer relationships, understand ongoing projects, and develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s solutions.


Combining account management and business development, you will strengthen existing partnerships while identifying new customers and project opportunities, particularly within the Antwerp industrial region.

You will operate autonomously from a home office and act as the main link between Belgian customers and the technical teams based at the company’s European headquarters.


Key Responsibilities


Customer Management & Business Development

• Gradually take over and independently manage the existing Belgian customer portfolio.

• Build long-term relationships with engineers, technical managers, purchasers, maintenance managers, and other industrial stakeholders.

• Identify new customers, investment projects, and business opportunities across Belgium.

• Develop the company’s presence within heavy industry, chemicals, energy, manufacturing, and process industries.

• Combine the development of existing accounts with active new-business acquisition.

Technical Sales & Project Development

• Understand customer requirements and translate them into technically and commercially viable solutions.

• Advise customers on electrical distribution, switchgear, control, and automation solutions.

• Collect and structure the technical information required for project calculations and quotations.

• Work closely with engineering, calculation, project management, production, and service teams.

• Prepare, present, and follow up technical-commercial offers.

• Support projects from the initial customer discussion through negotiation and order confirmation.

Commercial Management & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing, project scope, commercial conditions, and contractual agreements.

• Maintain a structured overview of opportunities, quotations, and customer follow-up.

• Develop account plans and manage a reliable sales pipeline.

• Provide accurate sales forecasts and market insights to the Sales Director.

• Contribute to annual sales, order intake, profitability, and new-business objectives.

Internal Collaboration

• Act as the key interface between Belgian customers and the teams at the European headquarters.

• Involve technical specialists at the appropriate stage of each opportunity.

• Participate in regular sales meetings, technical training, and internal coordination sessions abroad.

• Accompany customers during factory visits or technical project meetings when relevant.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Technical degree in electricity, electromechanics, industrial engineering, or a related field.

• Equivalent experience within an electrotechnical environment will also be considered.

• A formal higher education degree is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Languages

• Fluent Dutch.

• Professional English.

• French is a strong advantage.

• German is considered an additional asset.

Experience

• Relevant experience in technical sales, project sales, account management, business development, engineering, estimating, or project management.

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, installations, or industrial automation.

• Experience with medium- and/or low-voltage systems is a strong advantage.

• Able to understand technical specifications and contribute to calculations, tenders, and quotations.

• Experience working with industrial B2B customers and complex project-based sales cycles.

• Exposure to heavy industry, chemicals, petrochemicals, energy, manufacturing, or process industries is highly relevant.

• Experience gained within switchgear manufacturing, panel building, electrical engineering, industrial installation, automation, technical distribution, or system integration is particularly valuable.

• Comfortable managing both existing customers and new-business development.

• Able to work independently within a home-based and highly autonomous position.
