Senior Freight Forwarder

In this role, you combine operational, commercial, and coordinating responsibilities within international ocean freight. You manage the full transport process from A to Z and act as the key link between internal teams and external partners. In addition, you lead a team and ensure structure, overview, and continuous process optimization.

The position is based in Breda, so you are willing to commute to this location on a daily basis.

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate international deep-sea shipments (cross-trade)
• Maintain contact and negotiate with shipping lines, forwarders, and suppliers
• Book and follow up shipments until delivery
• Manage and verify export documentation (B/Ls, L/Cs, Incoterms)
• Analyze rates and optimize transport flows
• Report to purchasing and sales teams
• Lead and support a team (5 FTE)
• Contribute to and implement improvements in operational processes

Your Profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a freight forwarder (deep sea), ready for the next step
• Strong operational and commercial mindset
• Experience with international transport within a trading environment is a plus
• Good command of English (required); additional languages are an asset (Dutch not required)
• Proactive, assertive, and strong communicator
• Able to build relationships and identify opportunities
• Strong organizational skills and sense of responsibility
• Flexible mindset (willing to commute to Breda; international environment with multiple time zones)

Offer

• Gross salary between €4,000 and €6,000 (depending on experience)
• Bonus based on company performance
