The project:

Our client in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced Business Tester to strengthen their team.

Key responsibilities:

Test Preparation & Test Design

• Analyze project documentation, business requirements and functional specifications.
• Translate requirements into structured test scenarios and detailed test cases.
• Build and maintain test structures, test suites and test hierarchies.
• Identify and prepare the necessary test data to support testing activities.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements and test cases.

Test Execution

• Execute testing activities across multiple test environments.

Perform:

• Functional Testing
• Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• End-to-End Testing
• Migration Testing
• Non-Regression Testing
• Volume & Performance Validation

• Participate in migration weekends (approximately 8 per year) to validate critical production releases.
• Validate both front-end and back-end application components.
• Ensure that delivered functionalities comply with business expectations and quality standards.

Defect Management

• Identify, document and analyze defects.
• Create and manage defects in JIRA.
• Participate in defect triage sessions and contribute to prioritization discussions.
• Follow up defect resolution with development teams until closure.
• Validate fixes and perform retesting activities.

Test Reporting & Quality Monitoring

• Maintain accurate testing information within the client's testing tools.
• Report on testing progress, execution status and quality indicators.

Monitor and communicate:

• Number of planned tests
• Executed tests
• Passed tests
• Failed tests
• Outstanding defects

• Contribute to project quality reporting and testing dashboards.

Test Environment & Data Management

• Support the preparation and organization of test environments.
• Coordinate the availability and consistency of test data.
• Ensure readiness of environments required for testing activities.
• Assist in resolving environment-related issues impacting testing schedules.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers and Business stakeholders.
• Participate actively in project meetings, test reviews and defect follow-up sessions.
• Provide clear and structured feedback regarding testing results and quality risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing practice

Is this you?

• Proven experience as Business Tester, Functional Tester or Test Analyst.
• Strong experience in test case design and test execution.
• Knowledge of test methodologies and software testing lifecycle.

Hands-on experience with:

• JIRA
• Test management tools (TPP or equivalent)

• Experience with functional, regression, acceptance and migration testing.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Experience working in Agile and/or traditional project environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
