The project:

Our client in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced Project Leader – CORM & Permanent Control to strengthen their team.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Initiate, coordinate and manage strategic projects and transformation initiatives within the CORM & Permanent Control domain.
  • Define project scope, objectives, governance, planning and delivery approach.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, regulatory requirements and technology roadmaps.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the client’s risk, control and compliance strategy.

Risk, Control & Regulatory Focus

  • Integrate risk management, internal control and compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that projects comply with regulatory expectations, internal policies and governance frameworks.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to strengthen operational risk management and permanent control mechanisms.
  • Support initiatives related to operational risk, internal controls, audit recommendations, regulatory remediation plans and governance improvements.
  • Assess project risks and ensure adequate mitigation plans are defined and implemented.

Business Analysis & Solution Design

  • Lead and coordinate business analysis activities.
  • Challenge business requirements and translate them into efficient, compliant and client-centric solutions.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of new features, processes and operating models.
  • Ensure solutions support operational efficiency, risk reduction and regulatory compliance.

Stakeholder & Governance Management

  • Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operations, Business and IT stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present consolidated reporting to steering committees, management and governance bodies.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Functionally lead multidisciplinary teams and transversal project contributors.
  • Act as a servant leader, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members and support their professional development.
  • Encourage autonomy, knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption.
  • Build future leaders by delegating responsibilities and creating growth opportunities.

Project Delivery & Quality Assurance

  • Coordinate all project phases, including:
  • Scoping
  • Planning
  • Analysis
  • Design
  • Build
  • Testing
  • Deployment
  • Change Management
  • Communication
  • Ensure projects are delivered:
  • On time
  • Within budget
  • According to quality standards
  • In compliance with risk and control requirements
  • Collaborate with testing teams and business users to define and execute test strategies and test scenarios.
  • Ensure operational readiness and smooth transition into production environments.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

  • Challenge existing processes, tools and operating models.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, governance, risk management and control effectiveness.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and monitor implementation progress.
  • Support organizational transformation and promote a culture of risk awareness, accountability and operational excellence.

Incident & Operational Support

  • Support teams in resolving impediments impacting project delivery.
  • Contribute to the management of incidents, root-cause analysis and remediation actions.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and integrated into future improvements.

Is this you?

  • Senior Project Management experience within Banking, Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Strong understanding of Operational Risk Management, Internal Control, Compliance and Governance frameworks.
  • Experience working within CORM, Permanent Control, Risk, Audit or Regulatory environments.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale transformation programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to challenge business requirements and drive pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects in highly regulated environments.
