Release Train Engineer (SAFe)

For an international software company, we are looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to play a key role in coordinating and facilitating a large-scale Agile Release Train (ART).

As the servant leader of the ART, you will help multiple Agile teams stay aligned, manage dependencies, facilitate collaboration and continuously improve the way software is delivered. You will work closely with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects and Engineering teams to ensure delivery remains predictable, efficient and focused on business value.

Your responsibilities

• Facilitate key SAFe ceremonies, including PI Planning, ART Syncs, System Demos and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners and teams on Agile and SAFe best practices.
• Coordinate dependencies, risks and impediments across multiple teams.
• Drive alignment between business, product and engineering stakeholders.
• Improve delivery flow, predictability and team collaboration.
• Promote continuous improvement and support Agile maturity across the organization.
• Provide transparency on progress, risks and delivery objectives.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in Agile delivery environments, ideally within larger organizations.
• Strong knowledge of SAFe, Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Experience facilitating program-level Agile ceremonies and stakeholder alignment.
• Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills.
• Ability to manage complex dependencies and coordinate multiple teams.
• A servant leadership mindset with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of software development and modern delivery practices.

Location: Mechelen - flexibel with remote work - Location in Ghent also possible.

Freelance contract - Temporary, untill the end of the year.
