Freelance Project Manager – Infrastructure & Energy Projects

A leading infrastructure and engineering organisation is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure, utility and energy projects across Belgium.

This role offers full project ownership from planning and preparation through execution, commissioning and final handover. You will work closely with clients, contractors, site teams and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The position is suited to someone who combines strong technical understanding with practical project leadership and enjoys being actively involved throughout project execution.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Project Manager who can confidently take ownership of projects from start to finish while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.

You should be comfortable balancing technical, commercial and operational responsibilities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure, utility and energy projects from initiation through to completion
• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources and project risks
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, supervisors, technicians and subcontractors
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities and external stakeholders
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety and commercial performance
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and industry regulations
• Coordinate construction, commissioning and handover activities
• Drive continuous improvement and project delivery excellence
• Support stakeholder management throughout all project phases

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience
• Experience delivering utility, telecom, infrastructure or energy projects
• Strong stakeholder, client and contractor management experience
• Proven experience managing project budgets and planning activities
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
• Comfortable operating both on-site and in client-facing environments
• Strong understanding of HSE, quality and project governance requirements
• Dutch speaking in mandatory
