Mechanical Design Engineer

Verhaert Consulting is supporting a leading international engineering company in the search for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen its machine development team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical engineer with a strong machine-building background who enjoys designing complex industrial equipment and can quickly contribute to ongoing engineering projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical systems and automated machinery.
• Create, modify and optimize 3D machine designs using SolidWorks.
• Manage engineering data, drawings and revisions within Teamcenter.
• Review and validate 2D manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability and product quality.
• Support machine development from concept through detailed design and implementation.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change management processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust and reliable machine solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• Strong background in machine building and industrial equipment design.
• Extensive experience in 3D mechanical design and product development.

Strong knowledge of:

• SolidWorks
• Teamcenter or comparable PLM systems
• Technical drawing review
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Engineering change management
• Experience delivering detailed build-to-print documentation.
• Comfortable working independently and integrating rapidly into existing projects.
• Fluent in English.

• Packaging machinery

• Conveyor systems
• Material handling or intralogistics solutions
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, testing and validation activities.
